Women to protest against price hike

The district Mahila Congress Committee will organise a protest against the hike in essential commodities on Saturday, November 7, 2015.

Speaking to mediapersons, the Committee president Veronica Cornelia said that the Central government had hiked the prices of essential commodities. Women and people of the middle class were the most affected due to the move, she added.

The protest march will begin at the Big Bazaar and legislator Pramodh Madhwaraj will flag off the procession. The rally will pass through the Diana Circle and K M Marg, before culminating in the convention. The programme will be inaugurated by the State Welfare Board president Divya Prabha.

District In-charge Minister Vinay Kumar Sorake, district Congress Committee president Gopal Poojary, Karkala former legislator Gopal Bhandari and others will be present on the occasion.
