JOIN US Rakshith RB and Spoorthy MV scored contrasting victories to clinch the junior boys’ and girls’ titles respectively in the CVL Sastry Memorial State table tennis championships here at the Indian Gymkhana on Saturday.
While Rakshith faced just a second game lapse in concentration to down Shreyas Kulkarni 13-11, 8-11, 11-8, 11-9, 11-9 in the boys’ final, a seemingly in command Spoorthy suffered before recovering, to outlast Gayathri Tankasali 11-7, 11-4, 11-3, 6-11, 6-11, 5-11, 11-7 to wear the girls’ crown.
Sujan Bharadwaj scored a 11-9, 11-8, 11-4 win over Krishna to pocket the sub-junior boys title and Anarghya Manjunath beat Aditi N Nandi 11-6, 11-9, 11-4 for the corresponding girls’ championship.
