JOIN US S R Hiremath, chief of the Samaja Parivartana Samudaya (SPS), on Thursday expressed concern over the fact that the SIT probing the graft case in the Lokayukta institution had not registered a case against Lokayukta Justice Y Bhaskar Rao.
Rao’s son Y Ashwin is a key suspect in the corruption case. Addressing a press conference, the social activist said that there were many loopholes in the investigation by the SIT.
He accused the SIT of protecting five ministers, including Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, in the case. Hiremath said that the investigation was being derailed by making Bhaskar Rao a witness in the case.
The SPS chief said that the son of a former minister from Haveri district too had a role in the case.
Hiremath said the High Court had ordered that the case should be handed over to the CBI for investigation, following a petition by SPS.
