Miscreants broke into a Mannapuram Gold Loan office on Bommanahalli Main Road and made away with gold valuables worth Rs 12 lakh.
Notably, the firm had not appointed any security guard at the office.
According to the police, on Wednesday night, the miscreants gained entry into the office by breaking open the main door and fled with the gold valuables.
They had also cut off the power supply and wires of the CCTV cameras.
Office ransacked
The entire office was ransacked and the chest broken into. In order to misguide the forensic experts and the dog squad, they had thrown chilli powder all over the place, said the police.
According to the police, it is suspected that someone with a good knowledge of the premises and surroundings has committed the crime.
The case has been taken up by the Madiwala police and the employees will be questioned.
CCTV footage
The CCTV footage from neighbouring buildings will be scanned for possible clues about the culprits, added the police.
