Ad hoc selection list of teachers announced

The Department of Public Instruction has published the ad hoc list of 9,511 candidates selected as teachers for government lower and higher primary schools. The list has been uploaded on the official website of the department - schooleducation.kar.nic.in.

The department has not considered 154 candidates with a one-year Diploma in English while preparing the list of those selected as higher primary school (Class 6 to Class 8) teachers. These candidates had appeared for the competitive examination and had even attended for scrutiny of testimonials. The High Court had quashed the Cadre and Recruitment Rules, 2003, related to recruitment of teachers with a direction not to consider the candidates with one-year English Diploma for the posts.

Primary and Secondary Education Minister Kimmane Ratnakar told Deccan Herald that an Executive Order had already been issued for altering the rules depending upon circumstances and changes had been effected in accordance with order before publishing the ad hoc list.
