Student dies in road accident

An 18-year-old student was killed on the spot after his car rammed into an electricity pole near HSR Layout under Madiwala traffic police limits.

According to police, the deceased has been identified as Rishabh, a second PU student and a native of Kundapur in Udupi district. He was residing with his parents in Bilekahalli.

On Friday around 2.30 am, he, accompanied by his friend Aaron, drove a car to Iblur to have dinner.

On their way home, another vehicle rammed into their car. Rishabh lost control over the vehicle and crashed into an electricity pole. Due to the impact of the collision, Rishabh suffered head injuries and died on the spot.

Meanwhile, Aaron, who was scared, fled the spot.

The police, who were alerted, rushed to the spot and shifted Rishabh’s body for post-mortem. A few clues have been obtained about the unidentified vehicle which rammed into the student’s car from the rear. Efforts are being made to trace the vehicle, said the police.

A case has been registered in Madiwala traffic police station.
