The adventures of Alice

Last Updated 11 December 2015, 21:54 IST

Jagriti Kids and Youth Production is presenting ‘Alice’ to celebrate 150 years of ‘Alice in Wonderland’ by Lewis Carroll. It is directed by Arundhati Raja and will be staged on December 18, 8 pm and December 19 and December 20 at 3 pm and 6.30 pm.

This year’s Jagriti Kids and Youth production, is based on Lewis Carroll's timeless story of  ‘Alice in Wonderland’ and ‘Through the Looking Glass’. Performed by a talented cast from 8 to 14, it is a celebration of the 150th anniversary of the publication of the book.

You can watch your favourite characters come to life alongside Alice — The Caterpillar, The Cheshire Cat, The Mad Hatter, The Duchess, The Queen of Hearts and her entourage, Humpty Dumpty, Tweedledum and Tweedledee and many more.

The script of the play was adapted from the book in 1998, by Mina Menon and other members of our Youth Theatre of the time. Some of Alice’s adventures have been omitted but all
the best known and loved characters are there. The 25-member-cast, aged 8 to 14, have all worked hard to bring these characters alive on stage.

The Jagriti Kids and Youth Production is the culmination of their long Trinity Theatre Arts Programme.
