A conman, who sold a fake diamond for Rs 18 lakh, was arrested here on Friday. Three months ago, the suspect, Sanjeevalu, had sold a diamond piece to Sundararaju, who took it to an expert to get it evaluated.
Only then did Sundararaju find out that he had bought a fake item. He was told that the stone is of poor quality and is worth just Rs 10,000. Based on the complaint lodged by Sundararaju, the West station police arrested Sanjeevalu.
