The compensation for land required for the third phase of Upper Krishna project will be paid as per the newly enacted Land Acquisition Act, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has said.
Speaking to reporters here on Wednesday, the chief minister said that the State government had been formulating guidelines for acquiring land and rehabilitating the project displaced persons.
He urged the prime minister to call a meeting of the chief ministers of Karnataka, Goa and Maharashtra to break the logjam over Kalasa-Banduri project. The chief minister said that the Union government had not released any money to Karnataka for taking up drought relief work and the BJP leaders had been making false claims in this regards.
