The first round of the pulse polio campaign will be held across the State on Sunday between 8 am and 5 pm. Children within five years of age would be immunised against polio.

While on the first day parents could have their children immunised by taking them to the designated booths, on the following days a door-to-door campaign has been planned.

In Bengaluru and parts of North Karnataka, the door-to-door campaign would be carried out for three days, while in the other parts of the State, it would be on for two days.

Across the State, 32,617 booths have been set up to administer polio drops on Sunday. In the BBMP limits and in Bengaluru Urban district, a total of 4,000 booths have been set up. As many as 1,205 mobile teams, 1,736 transit teams and over 1.3 lakh volunteers would be on the ground to carry out the immunisation programme.

The inauguration of the pulse polio campaign would take place at KC General Hospital at 8am on Sunday. Minister for Health and Family Welfare, U T Khader, would inaugurate the programme.
