JOIN USJet Airways has reported a net profit of Rs 467.11 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2015, compared with Rs 63.11 crore in the third quarter of the previous fiscal. The boost was mainly due to lower fuel prices as well as increase aircraft utilisation during the quarter.
Total income from operations for the airline increased 16.3 per cent to Rs 5443.97 crore compared with Rs 4680.60 crore in the third quarter of FY16, the company said.
Other operating income for the company during the quarter stood at Rs 419.83 crore, as against Rs 370.42 crore, a year ago. Other operating income includes income from leasing of aircraft and engine for the quarter ended December 31, 2015, of Rs 201.04 crore. The corresponding income for the quarter ended December 31, 2014, was Rs 223.68 crore. Other income stood at RS 192.41 crore compared to Rs 183.19 crore, a year ago. Other income includes profit on sale and leaseback of aircraft and engines for the year ended March 31, 2015, of Rs 124.59 crore, the company said.
Other expenses during the quarter ended December 31, 2015 stood at Rs 1211.04 crore, compared with Rs 1100.69 crore.
