Two held for illegal sale of liquor in city

In two separate cases, two persons have been arrested for selling liquor illegally in the city.

Acting on a tip-off, the city crime branch (CCB) police personnel arrested a 28-year-old youth at Hebbal Industrial Area, when he was selling liquor on a push cart. The accused, identified as Raghu is from Hallegere village in Mandya district. He had 20 tetrapacks of liquor, total worth Rs 1,000 in his possession. The police team was led by Inspector J C Raju.

In another case, a 37-year-old man was arrested for selling liquor near Jogi Siddaiah Park under NR police station limits. The accused, identified as Manju, aged 37, is a resident of Mohammed Sait Block here. In all, 24 tetrapacks of liquor have been seized from him.
The police team was led by Inspector H S Gajendra Prasad.
