Students' art expo begins

Speaking on the occasion, he said art performs a dual role by giving happiness to the viewer and at the same time making the artist himself happier. “You are indeed lucky to have bestowed with the talent of painting. You can make others happy and be contended yourself due to this talent,” he told the young artists.

Suryawanshi appealed them to use their talent to reflect the difficulties and feelings of disabled people. “Your art should become an ear for a deaf, an eye for a blind and a limb for a lame,” he advised.

Mahalasa Kalaniketan Principal Purushothama Nayaka, Beynon-Smith College of Fine Arts Principal Anil Prakash and Prasad Art Gallery proprietor Koti Prasad Alva were present. The expo will be kept open till February 25.

The exhibition comprises paintings by the visual arts students, namely, Piraji A Dodamani, Rohit M Pote, Sangam Doddamani, Ravi R Kulkarni, Sonal R Dabhade, Ganesh J Nersekar, Sandeep M Hongekar, Zuber G Hajaratbhai, Priya R Sunagar, Roopa R Fernandes, Mohan S Demane and Manisha V Sapare.
