A bite of sweet treats

Finding a cosy place to hang out with your friends in the city is not difficult. One such place that one could walk into is the ‘J’s Cafe’ on 100 Feet Road, Indiranagar. It’s not a hard place to locate as it is just above the Royal Enfield showroom. With their bright pink signboard, anyone would be tempted to walk in and try their food.

However, you might not always get the best service that you’ve hoped for. Designed as a cafe that holds antique items and hangings of old bikes, it looks like a place that’s perfect to have a date or meet your old friends. They have the option to sit by the window side and smell the coffee bring freshly ground or take the indoor area with long tables and benches. But if you choose to sit by the cafe area, be prepared to have your feet hitting the table as it is levelled up to your knees. However, the pizza holder on the table is surely  an attraction and makes one want to order the pizza.

They have a counter that displays some of their freshly baked goodies. The ‘Red Velvet cupcakes’ are one of the best that one will find in the city as it has the right amount of colouring and sweet flavour to it. It sure does make one feel happy with each bite.
But it’s not just a place for sweet treats. They also have savoury dishes that one could opt for. While their menu isn’t an extravagant one, you might be able to find something to suit your palate. They offer items from burgers and sandwiches to pasta, risotto and salads. They also have a section called ‘J’s Specials’ which offers ‘Roast chicken with red wine’, ‘chicken shinzer’ and ‘grilled stuff capsicum with mixed vegetables’.

Unfortunately, their specials can be avoided as they don’t taste as good as they sound. The food offered is quite bland and even with extra salt and pepper, the dish cannot be made right. If you’re lucky enough, you will get the ketchup from the waiters when asked for.

Standing true to their pizza section are items like ‘Margherita Pizza’ and J’s specials of vegetarian and non-vegetarian pizzas. Yet, they aren’t much to rave about.

However, they do have a good selection of drinks to choose from — both hot and cold. And for the lemon base lovers, there’s a good set of options to choose from as well. The cafe is also light on the pocket. ‘J’s Cafe’ is located at 1st Floor, 772, HAL 2nd Stage, 100 Feet Road, Indiranagar.
