The Lok Sabha on Wednesday was adjourned sine die, 2 days ahead of schedule, for want of legislative business. The Rajya Sabha is expected to follow suit on Thursday after bidding farewell to 52 retiring members.
The decision to curtail the session was also taken in view of the last leg of the campaigning of the Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry. As per the original schedule, the Parliament Session was to continue till May 13.
Making her valedictory remarks, Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan said this was the first session in the recent past that did not witness an adjournment for a single minute due to interruptions.
