Delhi Daredevils play-off bid was thwarted by Royal Challengers Bangalore, with their bowlers doing a good job on Sunday. Quinton de Kock, Delhi’s top-scorer, gave credit to the RCB spinners for putting them under pressure in the middle overs.

The wicket-keeper batsman felt they lost wickets at the wrong time because of RCB’s good game plan and clever bowling changes.

“I think they put a lot of pressure on us; their spinners there in the middle. There were some good bowling changes. It was hard to build partnerships. From there, we were losing wickets at the wrong time,” said De Kock, who stood out with his  60 runs amidst the batting collapse of his side.

“We also had a couple of soft dismissals. I lost my wicket at the wrong time. It could've gone either way though if we had got 20 more runs. They had good game plans in the death and it was hard to finish off. We didn't have enough batsmen for that.

The South African has had a good IPL season, where he top-scored for Daredevils in his longest stint in the tournament. He amassed 445 runs  from his 13 matches, that included a century and three half centuries, at an average of 37.08 and strike rate of 136.08. “This is the most that I've played in the IPL for one season. This is my fourth and I think I missed only one game this season. I've learnt how to play spin better. I haven't had many opportunities in T20 to play quality spin. I want to come back next year. I know now what the wickets here are about,” he said.
