Being in this profession, I miss being at home and whenever I am not travelling, I prefer spending time at home. My newly constructed home in Indiranagar is my favourite hangout. I like to call it a ‘hangout’ because I have taken special interest in designing the house. Every room has been designed according to a theme.

There are a few weekends when my friends come home and we do a lot of things together like watching movies and  cooking. I don’t cook but I eat whatever is made. However, recently my friends and I tried our hand at making ‘Mutton chops’ and that’s an achievement for me because I can cook only Maggi and nothing else.

I also work out a lot and weekends are no exception. My workout sessions have become more resourceful after I started ‘Akshar Power Yoga Academy.’ I hit the gym everyday but I dedicate more time to fitness on the weekends. I sometimes attend the teacher’s training course at the Academy where the sessions are quite rigorous. I also spend time talking to and counselling people who come to the Academy, about the benefits of exercise.

Cycling is another favourite pastime of mine. I have three hybrid cycles and I cycle every Sunday morning when the roads are relatively free of traffic. I began cycling regularly after I read about its health benefits. But sadly, cyclists don’t get a lot of respect on Bengaluru roads. It is tough to ride through traffic.

My sister Nikki has now moved to Chennai for work but whenever she is home, we spend a lot of quality time talking about work and sometimes, introspecting about our respective careers. She’s only a-year-and-a- half younger to me. We hardly get to be together, thanks to our demanding careers. So the time we spend together is very precious to me.

I am a foodie with meat dishes being my favourite. When my mother Reshma is home, she makes some grilled chicken and a few other non-vegetarian items. But when she’s travelling with my sister, then we have a good cook who more than makes up for her absence. I eat whatever I like but work out equally well. I bid adieu to my diet during festivals. Whatever the temptation, I always have a light dinner. Weekends are also dedicated to exploring a few restaurants. However,  I invariably end up at ‘The Black Rabbit’ in Indiranagar whenever I want to eat out.

Weekends at home are special and I try to make each day memorable by doing things that I like. I am a very positive person who doesn’t get stuck in negativity and stay away from negative people. This has helped me come a long way and has given me the confidence to attempt the impossible.
