<p>Bengaluru-based edtech startup Avagmah, which helps working professionals access management courses from various universities through its app, plans to increase the number of students on its platform from the present 4,000 to one lakh in three years. <br /><br /></p>.<p>Karthik K S, CEO of Avagmah, said, “We are right now in the management space and students can access management courses through our app. We have partnered with Pondicherry University, Los-Angeles based UCLA Extension and Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS).” <br /><br />The startup is also in talks with many top universities. “In the last two years we have grown 15 times and we are operationally profitable,” he said.<br /><br />Talking about education, Karthik said, “There are 35,000 colleges in India and one of the problems is quality education. Almost 40% of faculty positions in these colleges are vacant. Last year graduates are becoming this year’s lecturers. There are limited numbers of faculty and if we need to reach out to so many students it can be possible only through technology.” <br /><br />Apart from attending live sessions and asking queries, students can download videos and watch it any time on their app.<br /><br />Many of these are working professionals employed with the likes of Redbus, Amazon, TCS, JP Morgan and more.<br /><br /> “Close to 21% of our students go through sessions while they commute, and close to 51% are from tier-2 and tier-3 cities,” he said. Avagmah focuses more on technology, and going forward, it will keep adding new features to its app. <br /><br />Avagmah has secured an undisclosed funding from Kris Gopalakrishnan and Atul Nishar in March 2016 and has raised $5 million funding since its inception.<br /> <br /></p>
