A new date for the release of the socio-economic survey, known as caste census, will be decided by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah after discussions with the state Backward Classes Commission.
Social Welfare Minister Anjaneya had announced that the commission, under whose aegis the census was conducted, would submit its report to the state government on August 20, to coincide with the birth anniversary of former chief minister D Devaraj Urs. Anjaneya told reporters in Bengaluru on Thursday that the commission had sought more time as it wanted to submit the report along with analysis and recommendations.
