The only mistake six-year-old Saif committed was to eat one of the two samosas he had been asked to buy from a nearby shop. But little did he know he would have to pay for it with his life.
On Friday, on returning from school ,Saif told his stepmother Tabassum that he was hungry.
She handed him some money and asked him to buy two samosas. The famished boy could not refrain from eating a samosa on his way back.
The stepmother, however, became furious and thrashed the boy black and blue. She strangled him to death and later called her husband and asked him to rush home as Saif was critically ill.
The incident occurred at Kuatanda village in Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly district, about 250 km from here. Tabassum has been arrested.
