Two injured in ambulance-cab collision on Hebbal flyover

Two persons sustained injuries when an ambulance moving on one-way road collided with a cab on Hebbal flyover near Byatarayanapura Junction in the early hours of Sunday.

According to the police, the injured are — cab driver Shivakumar and Shashikumar, an attender in the ambulance.

Around 3 am, Ramanaji drove the ambulance attached to Shushrusha NursingHome, to shift Dhananjay, a head constable attached to Chikkajala police station, to MS Ramaiah hospital. He was accompanied by attender Shashikumar.

Dhananjay was admitted to Shushrusha Hospital on Saturday evening after he sustained minor injuries in a road accident while returning home from duty.

He was administered first aid at the Shushrusha Nursing Home and was being shifted to MS Ramaiah Hospital.

A senior police officer said, Ramanji, in a hurry to reach the hospital, took the one-way on the flyover.
The speeding ambulance collided head-on with the cab, driven by Shivakumar, coming from the opposite direction. Shivakumar, who was going towards the airport, was also speeding.

While, Shashikumar and Shivakumar sustained injuries, Ramanji and Dhananjaya are safe.
A case has been registered at the Yelahanka traffic police station.
