On the eve of World Deaf Day, ‘Swararambh’ and ‘Advaita’ will come together to give Bangalore a unique musical experience. They will collaborate for ‘Vaani — Sound of the Soul’ that will be held on September 24, 5.45 pm onwards at Good Shepherd Auditorium, Museum Road, Richmond Town. The event will aim to raise funds for Vaani Deaf Children’s Foundation to enrich the lives of deaf children.

‘Swararambh’ is a music school started by Malvika Nirajan who is putting in all her effort to the cause and says “Of all art forms, it is probably music which has maximum universal appeal and I have come to believe that it has an inherent quality that makes it more than mere entertainment. I am glad that a fantastic new-age band like ‘Advaita’ has agreed to join me in this endeavour”.

The music school has students ranging from 6 to 45 years who enjoy learning music as much as Malvika enjoys teaching them. She primarily trains them in the Hindustani classical vocal style but keeps it fun, touching almost any genre that students are receptive to learn.

‘Advaita’, a band from Delhi, has been featured on  shows like ‘MTV Coke Studio’ and ‘MTV Unplugged’. They won the ‘Global Indian Music Award’ for the best rock album of the year in 2012 and earned multiple nominations for the ‘Jack Daniels Rock Awards’ in 2013.  Tickets for the event are available on www.bookmyshow.com
