Mahindra pip Air India

Indian midfielder Steven Dias opened the scoring for the Jeepmen in the 19th minute with a well-taken freekick after Muritala Ali was brought down by Yusuf Ibrahim.

Mohammed Rafi doubled the scoreline for Mahindra at the half hour mark after latching onto a rebound from goalkeeper Kunal Sawant, who had thwarted striker Muritala Ali’s attempt on goal.

The Airmen though refused to lie down and got themselves a goal back in the 54th minute through Vijith Shetty. But Mahindra held on till the end to earn themselves three points.
With this win Mahindra lie second on 28 points from 15 matches, with Air India third from bottom on 15.

In Nehru Stadium, Fatorda, Mumbai FC denied Sporting Clube De Goa their first win of the campaign as they came from behind to hold the Goan club to a 2-2 draw. Nishanth Mehra (10th) and Hiralal Chetri (90th) scored for Mumbai while Joseph Pereira (24th) and Elijah Junior (70th) found the back of the net for Sporting.
