The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) is geared up for the mayoral election scheduled on September 28.

To review the preparations, Bengaluru regional commissioner M V Jayanthi on Thursday camped at the BBMP Council building ensuring that the sitting arrangements, issuance of ID cards to the voters, officials and the media are made. She also reviewed the temporary office of the nodal officer for the Mayoral election. The parking arrangements were also reviewed. The Palike officials were directed to make the elaborate arrangements by Thursday, which was not up to the mark. This prompted the regional commissioner to camp in the Palike council building and ensure that the arrangements were made.

As a large number of vehicles would arrive on September 28, parking for four-wheelers has been arranged near the new building in front of the Glass House and near the Annex Building.

BBMP additional commissioner (administration) Dr M Lokesh said that training will be imparted on the enrolment of voters, counting of votes and issuance of identity cards till the election day. The enrolment of voters will be done only on September 28. According to BBMP sources there are 269 voters as of now, which include corporators, MPs, MLAs and MLCs.
