Last Updated 25 September 2016, 20:07 IST

The BJP on Sunday said that it will launch a protest opposing the ruling Congress’ decision to re-induct former minister K J George into the State cabinet.

Speaking to reporters here, former deputy chief minister R Ashoka accused the state government of misusing the CID to hush up M K Ganapathy suicide case in order to protect George. The CID has completed the investigation into the case in a short period and given a clean chit to the Congress leader, he charged.

George was forced to resign as minister as Ganapathy had accused him and two senior IPS officers of harassment, in an interview to a news channel before ending his life. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has decided to re-instate George as minister. The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled to be held on Monday.
