Eight firms to partner with govt to boost tourism

World Tourism Day was observed in the city on Tuesday. Tourism Minister Priyank Kharge announced a list of eight startups which will partner with the government for crowd source innovation solutions to improve tourism. The city hosted two heritage bicycle rides on two circuits - Basavanagudi Heritage Circuit and Bengaluru History Circuit.

Inaugurating one of the circuits, Kumar Pushkar, MD, Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation, said cycling promotes healthy and eco-friendly tourism. For the first time, five buildings and sites in the city were illuminated. N Manjula, Tourism director, said Tipu Sultan’s Summer Palace near KR Market, Town Hall, Freedom Park, Mayo Hall and Bangalore Museum, will be illuminated up to September 29. At some places where lights cannot be put up, like at the palace, illumination arrangements from the bottom have been made.
