Proposal on parking a hasteful waste?

Last Updated 14 March 2010, 17:05 IST

The question is whether the authorities bother to read and know the feedback from the citizens with a positive attitude and give a thought to it!

The pro-active initiatives to improve the parking/traffic flow in the city is appreciable. But isn’t the present proposal a hasteful waste? With the mess already created because of the unplanned haphazard sequence of concreting/ underground drainage/ cable laying works simultaneously taking place throughout the city, the citizens find it extremely get in and out of this Chakravyuha of a city. It would have been more prudent and sensible to wait till the major works are completed and then enforce these parking rules.

Why not enforce the existing parking rules strictly, and then cover more roads under it? The Kulur- Kavoor Road has vehicles parked on either side of the road in a haphazard manner against the existing rules.

Why do the local traffic cops turn a blind eye to this situation? Even Kavoor junction is in a terrible mess and needs urgent attention.

The old service bus stand which is being used as a taxi stand now could be made into a nominal paid parking facility till the new facilities are constructed.

Let there be a thought for the pedestrians too. A professional study by experts of the traffic problems of the city may give better insight regarding introducing these new parking laws.
