JD(S) youth wing district president K Bharath stated in a release that the State government and the local MLA who were trying to alter the original shape of the structure have lost their face in the backdrop of the Apex Court’s order.

The cave should be repaired as per the directions of the Archeological Survey Department without damaging the original shape, he urged.  In the meantime, Komu Souharda Vedike has also welcomed the court’ move.State Assistant Secretary Gouse Mohiuddin said the SC’s order is a victory to the Vedike’s struggle.

“Supreme Court had ordered on August 12, 2009, in the wake of the collapse of the cave in April 2008.  The government had assigned the contract to one Binyas company.
Since the Vedike came to know that the original shape of the cave is being altered, it brought a stay.

In this backdrop, the court has given the order now,” he said. However, he said the KSV will keep an eye on the project and it will lauch serious struggle if the court order is violated.
