In a revolt against the alleged “high-handedness” of the Congress party leaders, 30 aspirants from the Karnataka Youth Congress have filed their nomination papers as independents Monday morning.

Several Youth Congress activists accused the party of not showing enough “gratitude” for their earlier work and efforts they had put in for the party’s growth in the State.  Chetan Gowda, General Secretary, Karnataka Youth Congress who was to contest from Srinagar ward, has also turned a rebel after he and his colleagues were denied any tickets.  “None of us have got tickets. As a result, all the 30 of us have gone forth and filed our nominations in various wards as independents,” he said.

It is learnt that the dissident Youth Congress activists have been called in by Working President D K Shivkumar for a detailed discussion Monday night.
