Solo travelling is amazing but it is not the most economical way to travel. I was looking for rooms in Pushkar during the famous Pushkar fair, when I found out about WeTravelSolo. It connects solo travellers and even though I love travelling solo, I discovered how travelling in a group can be very helpful,” shares Preeti Singh, who is an avid traveller.

“Travelling in a group is safer than travelling solo and WeTravelSolo provides such a platform. It is not necessary that travelling alone will be always fun too. This platform connects solo travellers to deal with these situations,” shares Shefali Walia, founder of
wetravelsolo.com.

Talking about safety concerns she adds,”If a person is not feeling safe in presence of someone, the group will intervene and see that no untoward incident happens.”

The portal connects solo travellers across India and takes away the blues. While it is true that some people want to travel solo to get away from familiar spaces and faces, travelling solo can also become a lonely affair after some time. “Travelling solo also has it's downfalls. Meeting like minded people through platforms like this can be a great help at times,” says Walia.

The website organises treks and festive parties during holiday seasons as well. “Of course, people join out of free will and the itinerary of the group could change with a formation of the group,  but none of that means a person is bound to follow it, you can
be a part of the group for as long as you want or leave it,” she adds.

The website is supporting more than just solo travelling, as it can provide you with a temporary companion during your journey.

“In such cases, this is a perfect platform. Some people who met through our
website became really good friends. And many of them keep coming back to the
website to connect with new people,” Walia says.

Singh explains, “The friends I made on the trip to Pushkar are still in touch with me and we plan to travel together again.”
