<p>To raise awareness among citizens about the ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan’ , a car rally was organised by Rotary Bangalore Sobha Nagasandra on Sunday. People from different walks of life took part in the event. <br /><br /></p>.<p>Nearly 43 families from different parts of the city participated in the car rally. The cars were decked with messages — ‘Clean India, green India’, ‘Let's make Swachh Bharat a reality,’ among others. <br /><br />The rally that was flagged off by Rotary Coordinator-Zone 5, Rtn Rajendra Rai, covered a total distance of 67 km from Tumakuru Road to Chikkajala, KIA Road and back. <br /><br />“This is the first time that I took part in the rally. The event sent out a message to not dirty the streets. It took us four to five hours to complete the rally,” said Kripa Shetty, a participant. <br /><br />Abhijeet Makhijani, a participant from Sahakaranagar, said that it was a wonderful experience and seemed more like an outing for him. “This was a different kind of car rally. There was no limit on the speed and we had a nice time,” he added. <br /><br />Rtn Satish B N, president, Rotary Bangalore Sobha Nagasandra, said: “The event’s objective was to raise funds for the community service projects of Rotary. The proceeds will be used for our ‘Teach Mission’ project.”</p>
