A builder’s son reportedly spoke lewdly about a television actress and roughed up her friend at a lounge bar late on Sunday. Skyye bar, at UB City on Vittal Mallya Road, witnessed high drama around midnight. A little later, the action shifted to a petrol station on Kasturba Road.

Darshan and R Nirusha made allegations and counter-allegations, but eventually settled their dispute without involving the police. They said they were going by the advice of family elders not to take it any further. Police obtained a letter of apology from Darshan and filed a non-cognizable report about the fracas.

The actress said she had not faced sexual assault or harassment. “In fact Darshan is my friend. He did not behave properly. He made obscene remarks about me. He has tendered a letter of apology. It’s a closed chapter now,” Nirusha told reporters. She said she had insisted on a written apology in the interest of her safety.  With six others, Nirusha had been to Skyye bar on the 16th floor of UB City.

When they were talking over dinner, Darshan reportedly made lewd remarks about Nirusha. Saurabh, a friend of Nirusha’s, overheard Darshan and took him to task. Darshan then thrashed him. Lounge staff intervened and sent Darshan out.

Nirusha and her group stayed back and went downstairs by 1 am. They met Darshan again at the petrol station, according to the police.  They once again got into a heated argument. Petrol station staff alerted the police, who went to the spot and took them to the police station for questioning.

DCP (Central) Dr Chandragupta said: “We will register a case if she files a complaint of harassment. A few men and women had drinks and got into an argument.”
