Petition in HC for quashing of CET-2017 notification

The Karnataka High Court on Friday ordered issuance of notice to the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) in a PIL seeking quashing of the notification calling for admission to professional courses in the state through CET for the academic year 2017-2018.

The petitioner, Bhuvanajyothi Education Trust has approached the court contending that they follow CBSE syllabus and, considering only CET marks for medical and dental courses is unfair.

The petitioner has contended that there was incidences of question paper leak during the II PU exams last year and this has affected the CET ranking of those students who are from CBSE and ICSE boards. The petitioner has sought directions to stay and quash the notification calling for admissions through the CET exams.
