Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation launched two AC Volvo buses with special features to ensure passenger safety under the JnNURM scheme on Saturday.
The new buses, launched by transport minister Ramalinga Reddy, have safety features as per Urban Bus Specification (UBS -II).
Charging points
The buses will have mobile and laptop charging points in every row, stop request switches on every pole, emergency switch at the middle door, etc. They also have provision for passengers to board the bus on wheelchairs, two cameras for safety and one more behind the bus to enable the driver to reverse safely. These buses will be run in the city on a trial basis.
