Tata Steel has decided to appoint N Chandrasekaran as the chairman of the board following his appointment as chairman-designate of Tata Sons on January 12, 2017.
Tata Steel is the second listed Tata Group entity to appoint Chandrasekaran as the chairman.
Tata Motors had appointed Chandrasekaran as the director and chairman of the company’s board on January 17, 2017. “The board of directors at its meeting held on February 7, 2017, elected N Chandrasekaran as the chairman of the board. Chandrasekaran was appointed as a member of the board on January 13, 2017,” Tata Steel said.
“Tata Steel is an iconic company that has stood tall for over a century. It has for long provided thought leadership in areas of sustainable business, ethics and stakeholder management,” Chandrasekaran said.
