<p>Elaborate dining, enticing cocktails and interesting conversations at its best — it was a grand evening of recollecting memories and welcoming a new member into the fold at The Oberoi, Bengaluru recently.<br /><br /></p>.<p>While the evening marked the welcoming of Visheshwar Raj Singh as the new vice-president and general manager, it also marked the completion of 25 years in the city for the hotel. <br /><br />Having worked with the same hotel from 1998 to 2002, Visheshwar is elated to be back in Bengaluru. <br /><br />“It is going to be an adventurous journey here and I am positive that I would be able to contribute to the hotel’s timeless presence. I feel I will be taking the hotel many years ahead,” he said. <br /><br />Visheshwar added, “The wine culture seems to have started from Bengaluru and I identify the hotel with fine wine. The challenge ahead is to provide the best and bring in changes wherever required.” <br /><br />The event saw the who’s who of the city, which included businessmen, industrialists, fashion designers and loyal customers. <br /><br />Priya Rajagopal, a guest, said that she remembers coming to the hotel many times and having a pleasant experience. <br /><br />Sahana Das, another guest, recollected the time when she and her family stayed in the hotel for two and a half months when they moved to the city. “Our house was just getting ready. We didn’t want to be served hotel food every day. We were served the best home-style food and it remains one of our best memories,” she said.<br /><br />Aslam and Michelle Gafoor pointed out that despite being in the heart of the city, to have a hotel which opens up to a well managed green space inside has always been refreshing. <br /><br />Aslam said, “Despite Bengaluru being the ‘garden city’, the facts are different when you’re out on the roads. The space has always been a relaxed spot to be at with equal sophistication and warmth.”</p>
