Huma enters the big league

Bollywood actor Huma Qureshi, who is back in the news for her strong performance in Subhash Kapoor’s ‘Jolly LLB 2’, alongside Akshay Kumar, looks quite excited.

She is making her presence felt on global arena with her debut  in ‘Viceroy’s House’. Reportedly, the B-town girl recently went to London to meet Jaya Thadani, who was actually an interpreter during the British rule and will soon be organising a special screening of her Hollywood project for Thadani in London.

Interestingly, the ‘Badlapur’ lady will be spotted portraying Aalia, a Muslim interpreter to India’s last Viceroy.

   Moreover, ‘Viceroy’s House’ is set to premiered at ‘Berlinale 2017’ becoming Huma’s third movie to be screened on a global platform.

Meanwhile, Huma’s fresh pairing with Akshay is being termed as her smooth transition from a powerhouse performer to a successful commercial star.

“Huma is soon to make her big Hollywood debut with ‘Viceroy’s House’ and was grateful to everyone who has been part of this journey. Huma met Jaya Thadani in London to understand how she speaks, hear her stories and how she lived her life during that time.

After spending a day together, the two grew close. Huma will soon be organising a screening in London as she is really excited to have Jaya’s feedback on her performance and the film,” said sources. On the working front, Huma is currently busy promoting her international debut. Featuring Hugh Bonneville and Gillian Anderson in the lead role, the movie is a historical drama set during the Partition of India and is expected to release in the UK on March 3.
