A number of dignitaries graced the occasion including chief guests H N Jagannatha Reddy, registrar, Visvesvaraya Technological University, and B S Bindhumadhava, associate director, C-DAC Bengaluru and chairman, IEEE Computer Society.

The programme began with two short videos highlighting the achievements of both the chief guests followed by an invocation song. Followed by the lighting of the lamp, Ramesh Babu said, “It is a wide platform where all academia and experts can share ideas with each other and also contribute papers in multidisciplinary research. In fact, technical paper presentations will be a major part of the event.” He urged everyone to have an enriching experience at the event.

Later, Jagannatha Reddy took over the dais. He appreciated the work of the institution and its contribution in fostering capable engineers and professionals. “The interdisciplinary collaborations between the various streams of engineering have made possible numerous advancements in today’s day and age,” he said.

He also stressed upon the importance of innovation by Indian firms, especially research and development based innovation, which will enable them to compete with foreign companies. He encouraged the students to put in their best in their respective streams and make the best of all the facilities that the college has to offer.

Following his speech, the conference book and CDs were released. Rakshith, a sixth semester student at Dayananda Sagar, was excited as it was his first time at the conference. “I hope to gain a lot of knowledge of technical terms in mechanisms for industry applications,” he said.

Another student Kishore was grateful for the opportunity provided by the college to be a part of such an event. “We may not be able to grasp everything that we come across but the event will definitely be a good exposure for all of us,” he expressed.
