CM should clarify his stand on diary: BJP

Last Updated 23 February 2017, 19:48 IST

BJP leader S Suresh Kumar on Thursday said the Siddaramaiah-led Congress government has been exposed following a national television news channel airing the contents of a diary reportedly maintained by Congress MLC K Govindraj.

Kumar told reporters that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah should clarify his stand on the diary. He had been claiming that he and his government were clean, but the diary has proved it otherwise, he charged. Instead of admitting their misdeeds, the Congress leaders tried to mislead people by raising questions as to how the BJP got details of the diary. Govindraj should immediately resign as MLC owning moral responsibility. As for the chief minister, he should decide whether to continue in the office or not, he added.

Kumar said the Congress’ poor showing in the local body elections in Maharashtra has proved beyond doubt that the party is a sinking ship. The Congress in Karnataka should mend its ways and learn a lesson from the Maharashtra poll results. The party cannot cover up its misdeeds and failures in administration by holding public rallies in Bengaluru. What the party leaders have spoken at the Satyameva Jayate rally held in Bengaluru on Thursday is a bundle of lies.
