Congress MLC K Govindaraj has claimed that he had sought action against those who had planted the diary at his house.

Govindaraj said he had written to the Indiranagar police inspector on March 21, 2016 stating that income tax sleuths had conducted a survey at his house in Domlur on March 15, 2016.

“The officials had seized certain papers and documents. However, the officials are said to have seized a small diary which either myself or any member of my family are aware of and it does not belong to any of us. I suspect that this mysterious diary is planted in my house by unknown persons with a malicious intent of causing harm, damage and trouble to me,” the MLC stated and sought action against the culprits.

Technical reasons

The police considered the letter as ‘intimation’ to the station house officer and did not register any case due to technical reasons. “The search and mahazar were conducted by I-T officials in the presence of the MLC. Moreover, he had signed on the list of documents seized from his house. Technically, the police can’t register a case based on the intimation,” said a police officer.
