Ever since her big break in Subhash Ghai’s Yaadein as Monishka, actress Kiran Rathod’s journey into movies has been a wild one. Though the film bombed, her roller-coaster ride began then. She was getting opportunities to work with the best actors in every mainstream language. But she still catches you off guard when she says, “I don’t really consider myself as a good actress.”

In the City to catch an IPL match, this bubbly girl says that she is a conservative and religious person and not twice married and characterless as reports say. “I don’t know why the media has been so mean to me. If  I go for a few months to shoot  for another language movie, they say that I am married. But I’d like to clarify that I am very much single and looking out for that special someone,” says Kiran, who shot to fame with Gemini. So how does she handle the gossip? “Ignorance is bliss. But I would like people to see my real side. So I am considering entering Bigg Boss and show people that I am a caring human being.”

Shortly, Kiran will be seen in Rajpal Yadav’s Ata Pata Lapata, where she will play the role of a journalist and share screen space with Naseeruddin Shah. “It was such a pleasure to share space with an actor like Naseer. His energy is so strong that it compels you to give your best,” she says.

After Kshana Kshana, Kiran was not seen in any Sandalwood movies, but now she has signed a new film opposite Ramesh Aravind.

“I will do a Kannada movie for free. I love the people and the place. Every time, I visit here, I get such positive energy,” says Kiran, who recently bought a house in the City.
With so many actors making a move towards the small screen and hosting reality shows, Kiran says that it’s something she wouldn’t want to try at the moment.

“Television squeezes every bit in an actor and I am not ready for that kind of commitment. When I am still getting movie offers, why move to television?” she signs off.
