Chandigarh Police have sent a written complaint to Kings XI Punjab team management and IPL authorities charging the left-handed batsman of slipping away from the team hotel here without informing any security official.

Yuvraj, whose side lost to Rajasthan Royals in an IPL match at Mohali last night, was earlier charged by the city police for breaching security norms when he slipped out of the team hotel with some other players before their IPL III match against Delhi Daredevils at Mohali on March 13.

"Late on Tuesday night he left the hotel here where his team is staying. This is not the first time that Yuvraj has gone out of the hotel without informing the police. A responsible player like Yuvraj must realise that we are there to protect them and the players should not take their security lightly," Chandigarh's Superintendent of Police (Security) H S Doon said today.
"Besides informing his team franchisee, we have also apprised IPL officials in Mumbai about this issue. We have asked them to take appropriate action as such incidents are a matter of grave concern," he said.

Police said the players and team management had been given strict advisory about security norms but despite that the players breached them.Meanwhile, Kings XI Punjab co-owner Ness Wadia was also caught on the wrong foot as Chandigarh police have challaned him for smoking at a public place.

Police took action on the basis of a photo of Wadia published in a newspaper showing him smoking at a hotel here. He was challaned for a fine of Rs 200, police said
