Man kills friend for proposing to marry his sister

The Kengeri police have arrested two men in connection with the murder of their friend. The suspects are Pratap (20), and Madesh (24), both residents of Srinivaspura. 

Puttaswamy, the victim, Pratap and Madesh worked as labourers. Puttaswamy was in love with Pratap’s sister and wanted to marry her. However, Pratap was opposed to the plan, police said.
The duo had fought over the matter several times in the past as Puttaswamy would often seek Pratap’s approval for the wedding.

Pratap and Puttaswamy had a drink on the night of March 30 near the rajakaluve in Srinivaspura. Puttaswamy raked up the issue of marriage and asked Pratap to give his assent to it. The two began to fight and Pratap kicked Puttaswamy repeatedly. The latter fell down and succumbed to his injuries on the spot.

Pratap met Madesh and told him about the incident. He returned to the spot along with Madesh and the

two wrapped the body in a gunny bag and threw it in the drain. A few local residents noticed the body on Saturday and informed the police. Based on inputs provided by the residents, the police arrested the suspects.
