Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will dedicate 51 new Pink Hoysala patrol vehicles for women and child safety in the city on Monday.

Home Minister Parameshwara will inaugurate a mobile app launched by the Bengaluru City police - Suraksha App - which the women in distress can use for help from the police.

The Pink Hoysala patrol vehicles will be used to attend to complaints received by women at the police control room and the command centre through a mobile app - Suraksha App.

A woman officer will be attached to vehicles. With the addition of 51 Pink Hoysalas, the number of Hoysala patrol vehicles will go up to 272.

About 5,630 people have already downloaded the Suraksha App on their smartphones. Alerts will be sent to the two registered numbers of victims in distress. The alerts will also be sent to nearest Pink Hoysala through live vehicle tracking system for immediate action.

The jurisdictional police will also be alerted for further action. After installing the app, names and addresses should be mentioned, besides two contact numbers for immediate contact in case of emergency. The registration should be confirmed through an OTP. The user should click on Submit and then enter two contact numbers. Later, the user should click on Next and complete the process.

While using the app, the user will see the word ‘ press’ in red colour. In case of emergency, the press button in red colour should be pressed or mobile power button should be pressed five times so that command centre receives alert for immediate action.
