Bosch facilities to resume operations today

German automotive technology giant Bosch has confirmed that it will resume operations at its Adugodi and Koramangala facilities here from Monday.

The Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB), through a notification dated May 5, had directed closure of all industrial units within the catchment area of the Bellandur lake owing to environmental issues. On receiving the notice, Bosch on Saturday had announced that it will temporarily suspend operations at its Adugodi plant. However, the group also made a representation to KSPCB authorities on Saturday, and has received clarification that the provisions mentioned in the notification was not applicable to its facilities.

“Bosch to resume operations at its Adugodi and Koramangala facilities from May 8, 2017,” the group said in a statement, adding, “Bosch has the highest regard for environment protection and legal norms, as a precautionary measure, the decision to halt operations was announced.”  

“Necessary sewage and effluent treatment measures have been implemented and are operational. We follow standards as has been defined globally. Having received KSPCB clarification, Bosch will commence operations at its locations in Adugodi and Koramangala,” Bosch Group India president Soumitra Bhattacharya stated
