Ziox Mobiles, owned by Sun Airvoice, will launch LED TVs in India within a couple of months in collaboration with a Chinese partner.

Interacting with DH, Ziox Mobiles Chief Executive Officer Deepak Kabu said the company has made deep inroads into the Indian market with its feature and smartphones. “Now we find great opportunity for launching LED TVs and this will happen within a couple of months,” he said.

LG, Samsung and Sony are dominating the Indian LED television market with a combined share of 80% and have slashed prices of their models by 15% to take on the competition from Micromax, Sanyo, TCL, Noble Skiodo, Polaroid, LeEco and Kodak, which entered the market over the past one year.  “We are finding place in the 32-inch television category and there is a lot of competition in the market. We will have a price advantage here as we are planning to align with our Chinese partners,” he said.

Delhi-based Ziox started operations in India last year with feature phones and smartphones. “We have already invested Rs 400 crore out of Rs 500 crore investment committed to India. We want to strengthen our presence across the country by doubling our assembly lines to 20 by the end of this year,” he said.

The company has established a full-fledged research and development centre in Delhi and plans to go into global markets such as Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, East Africa and Russia this year.

“We are also planning to align with content creators, at least four of them, so that we can offer bundled offers to our customers. This will help us compete with other players in the same category,” he said.
When asked about the marketing strategy, he said the company has developed solid channel partners and has the presence in all districts in the country. “We have a solid offline strategy. But we will roll out offline stores owned by our company in the South and the North within two months. This will help our customers to get better experience of our products,” he said.

Ziox Mobiles also began manufacturing power banks and accessories. The recent product from the company includes ‘Astra Colors 4G’ smartphone with bright IPS HD display and 2.5D curved glass priced at Rs 6,499. “We are going ahead with our plan to come out with two more smartphones in a couple of months,” he said.
