A group of farmers from Karnataka staged a protest at Jantar Mantar on Monday demanding early implementation of the Mahadayi project, waiving of farmers’ loans and fixing a market rate for all agriculture products.
The farmers, who came from different parts of the state, also demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi chair a meeting of chief ministers of Karnataka, Goa and Maharashtra to resolve the Mahadayi water dispute. The state Raitha Sangha had organised the protest.
