According to forest officials, it might have died of injuries following a fight with another crocodile. The dead crocodile is around 50 years old. The forest guards who were on rounds saw the body floating in back waters and informed the senior officers. It has suffered injuries all over the body and its teeth are missing.
On Tuesday, ACF of D B Kuppe Range and Forest Officer Hiremath visited the spot. Dr Biradar conducted the postmortem.
