<p>A group of activists, academicians and students union leaders are bracing up to launch a movement against rising cases of lynching by mobs in different parts of the country.<br /><br />Rolling out a national campaign against mob lynching here on Monday, they demanded the Centre come up with a new law to bring the culprits of such violence to justice, as the current provisions under the IPC were inadequate to deal with such cases.<br /><br />They set up a committee of civil society members, which included senior Supreme Court lawyer Sanjay Hegde, social activists, artists and academicians, to draft an anti-mob lynching legislation.<br /><br />The group also comprised Gujarat Dalit leader Jignesh Mevani and Kanhaiya Kumar and Shehla Rashid, former president and vice president of the Jawaharlal Nehru University Students Union (JNUSU).</p>
