<p>Voicing their anger against the killing of five farmers in Madhya Pradesh's Mandsaur, hundreds of farmers in Rajasthan's Chittorgarh and Pratapgarh districts held mourning meetings on Wednesday. <br /><br />Agitating Farmers in the state who claim to face similar issues have decided to sit on an indefinite strike from next week. Rajasthan will be third BJP led state after Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh to witness farmer protests in the season. Bhishma Singh, a farmer leader and a member of vegetable mandi at Badi Sadri, Kalmipura village of Chittorgarh district told DH, "Protests were held at Pratapgarh and Chittorgarh followed by the condolence meetings. We also held a separate meetings to decide further course of action. Our demands are similar such as hike in milk prices, agricultural pensions and loan waiver. Pratapgarh is a tribal tribal of Rajasthan, bordering Mandasur district of Madhya Pradesh.<br /><br />Farmers from both the districts have asked the Rajasthan state government to meet their demands and also presented a memorandum to the district collector. Farmers have also threatened that if their demands are not met they will agitate on the lines of farmers at Mandasur, which claimed the lives of five in a police firing on Tuesday. They have demanded action against the police officials allegedly involved in killing of the farmers. <br /><br />Reacting to the farmer protests in state Agriculture Minister Prabhulal Saini assured that government will take all measures to stop protests from spilling in Rajasthan. "We are in touch with the district collector and local MLA has been asked to get in touch with farmer leaders", Saini told media. At the same time opposition party congress is demonstrating in Kota district of Rajasthan over the low garlic prices. Kota is known to produce best garlic and thrives on its crop. According to the sources, Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi will visit Mandasur to meet families of deceased farmers on Thursday. Gandhi will reach Udaipur on Thursday morning and on his way to Mandasur he will also stop at Pratapgarh to meet farmers.<br /><br /><br /></p>
